Mount Elgon Peak Climbing
Our Mt. Elgon tours are best for first climbers. Aspirant hikers need to be reasonably fit, but no specialized equipment or skills are needed to reach the peaks, and the mountain is not so high that there’s a serious risk of the altitude-related illnesses. Trails lead past caves, viewpoints and waterfalls, with the option of camping overnight on the mountain slopes. The 7km (four-hour) mountain bamboo trail to Kapkwai Cave passes through tropical and bamboo forest.
