If you think that a local host family home is a great place to hang your hat and rest your weary bones after a full day’ adventures, then get ready now to enjoy fascinating Mukono, Kampala and Jinja at our Nomads Homestay Mukono, Uganda in Kalagi town. We primarily host volunteers, but other travelers are also very welcome to stay.
Nomads Homestay Mukono is the home of Isaac Ssamba, the Founder of Ssamba Foundation and proprietor of SunTrack Adventures. Located in a humble neighborhood of just few meters away from Kalagi town, we are nestled away from all the noise of the big city, but close enough to ‘quickly’ get you back to downtown to sight see or party at the pubs and clubs until the birds are chirping.
We are just about 10 minutes’ drive from Mukono town central business center on an all-weather tarmac road. In Kalagi, the road from Mukono forms a T-junction with the road from Kampala to Kayunga. Mukono the nearest major town is a rapidly expanding city about 45 minutes from Kampala and 60 minutes away from Jinja town- the adventure capital of East Africa.
Our home has:
- Mountain Bikes
- Camping tents for hire
- 4X4 and Saloon Cars
- Offer laundry services
- Tours and Travel services
- Breakfast and Meals
Other available services include: Daily dinner, In-country transport and Airport Transfers. Sports and leisure rental equipment are also available, such as bicycles and volunteering placements arranged.
We are a small family and we started hosting people at our home with a goal to make connections, friends and for culture exchange. Our home is a place to relax after the intense experiences of the day, a place to chat while having a beer or two, to rest, watch TV or go for a walk around the neighborhood.
From the home, we can help arrange trips and expeditions around the country. These include wildlife safaris, hiking, white water rafting, horse-riding, fishing trips, mountain bike tours and other Uganda’s most beautiful national parks etc.
A portion of all proceeds from this facility goes into supporting projects run by our non-for-profit organization- Ssamba Foundation. Visitors and those staying with us are welcome to check on our projects for day, two or get involved for a longer period. We also offer meaningful construction volunteering experience at this facility.
