Mahoma Falls

Fort Portal is a town of many hidden Natural gems, from hosting the world’s youngest King and his Kingdom headquarters to being a place of many craters and lastly having the Rwenzori mountains as a backdrop.

The town has a lot in store for you to explore, legends to learn, and hospitable people to interact with. In the outskirts, in Ruteete along Fort Portal- Kamwenge road is Mahoma Falls.

Mahoma Falls are set up in a beautiful yet scenic environment, the view is refreshingly one not to be missed. The sounds of water falling over and splashing into the rocks below is like a melody.

The waterfall was formed when river Mahoma which is believed to have been formed due to a major volcanic activity that took place in the area during the middle Holocene flowed over some boulders.

These were in a forested valley and had rocky surfaces that allows water to flow over them in a splash and cascade into a plunge pool. The waterfalls offer a green lush environment, impressive birdlife, rocks a serene and cool atmosphere.

The waterfalls are of great picturesque quality, an awesome background that is perfect for photography and epic moments/memories. A power shower or African Hydrotherapy Massage in the pool is one thing not to be missed while here.

The falls can be visited while in the area or a customized tour to these can be organized by SunTrack Adventures when visiting Queen Elizabeth, Rwenzori Mountains or Semuliki National Parks.
