Mama Care Project

Mama Care Project

GVA Foundation- Africa with support from SunTrack Adventures and Go Volunteer Africa has launched Mama Care project as a response to end violence against women which is on the increase in this COVID 19 pandemic era.

COVID-19 has resulted in alarmingly high rates of violence against women and girls in many needy communities across sub-Saharan Africa.

Although violence against women and girls was a pandemic long before COVID-19, and GVA Foundation Africa has been on the front line to respond against violence and abuse against women and girls, the situation at the moment is alarming and calls for better intervention efforts.

The COVID-19 compelled us to reconsider our development support, hence the launch of the Mama Care Project.  The Mama Care Project will be running in Mukono District, Kyampisi Subcounty and nearby communities.

GVA Foundation – Africa is committed to our headquarters district of Mukono, Uganda. GVA Foundation – Africa has supported the communities of Mukono and beyond since 2006. GVA Foundation – Africa is committed to making an impact in Mukono through Strategic Community Investments by supporting causes that strengthen community development focus.

GVA Foundation – Africa founder Isaac Ssamba established GVA Foundation – Africa in 2006 with a mission to help the least able to help themselves, build safer, more resilient and inclusive communities around Africa. And that’s exactly what we’ve been doing for nearly 20 years.

Ssamba is the Operations Coordinator of the GVA Foundation. He has spent the last 15 years managing organizations that focus on community development, community tourism and organizations that recruit and place international travelers on cultural and educational exchanges across Africa.

GVA Foundation Africa has supported many local organizations that share our dedication to improving lives and strengthening communities where we live and work every day. Within these communities, we’re addressing important issues such as Education, Agriculture, Health, Environment and economic stability.

But we couldn’t create this positive impact on society without the overwhelming help and support of our volunteers and donors.
